CardConnect is a card processing solution that is integrated with our software. The integration provides several ways to process payments, including a countertop terminal, a mobile terminal, the ability to email clients invoices so they can pay them online, the ability to securely store card information on file, and the ability to process recurring payments as part of our wellness plans add-on.
In order for this integration to work, you will need to set up your account directly through us. Click the link on the Settings, Add Ons, Integrated Payment description to open an account.
Once your CardConnect account has been setup, you have the choice of whether to use a physical terminal (countertop or mobile), or to manually key-in cards for processing. The integration works with two different terminals, one of which is wireless and battery powered. The other is hard-wired using a power adapter and an ethernet cable.
To enable the integration:
- Click on Settings
- Click on "add ons"
- Click the green plus sign to the right of Integrated Payments
- Complete the form that appears
Your Merchant ID, or MID, can be found by logging into CardPointe (
https://www.cardpointe.com/). Look for the field labeled MID: it should be twelve numbers.
Connecting Your Devices to Your Network
After the integration is enabled, you will need to connect your terminal(s) to your network to ensure that they can process payments. The terminal(s) that are associated with your account can be viewed under Settings > Configurations > View Devices. If you do not see your devices listed, please check that you provided the correct Merchant ID when enabling the add-on. Otherwise, please contact customer success.
Connecting the countertop terminal is simple because it will automatically try to connect itself. If it succeeds, the word "Bolted" will appear on the screen. If it fails, you may need to power it down and restart it.
Connecting the mobile terminal requires a bit more work to set up. First you will need to access the device’s menu by entering [F], [7], [6], [7] quickly (it may take a couple of tries). Once you have accessed the menu, use the following keys to navigate the menu:
- [F1]/[F4] — Left/Right
- [F2]/[F3] — Down/Up
- [Green] — Select/Enter
- [Red] — Cancel/Return
To connect your device to your network:
- Select “Wifi Properties” from the menu
- Select “Scan for Networks”
- Navigate to the applicable network and select it by clicking on [Green].
- Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network using the keypad or the on-screen keyboard. If you’re using the keypad, press a key repeatedly to cycle through the characters assigned to that key. If you’re using the display, use the navigation keys to select characters and different keyboard types.
- Click on [Green]
Once a valid password is entered for the selected network, the device displays the message "Profile for <Network Name> created." The device must be rebooted before it can use the new profile. If the device does not reboot automatically, press and hold the hold down the [.,#*] and [<(Yellow)] keys to manually reboot the device. Once the device is connected, the screen displays "Bolted" and the device is ready for use.
