Steps for Reconnecting Label Printers (Mac)

For mobile clinics frequently moving computers and printers, it may not be realistic to always have your computer and printer connected. In order to help with the process of reconnecting your printers, we've written up the proper steps below:

When reconnecting the printer, follow these steps:
  1. Ensure that the computer is connected to the internet, either via mobile hotspot, wifi, or wired connection, if available.
  2. Connect the printer to the computer directly via USB connection.
  3. Confirm that the printer is populating in the computer's printer list. (please see instructions below)
  4. Open the Label Printer Manager software. By default, the software should remain running in the background at all times, and is accessible by clicking on the Vetter "V" logo at the top right (on Mac). If the software is not running in the background, you should be able to restart it from your applications menu.
  5. Ensure that the appropriate label printer (and only the label printer) is selected, then click "Share Selected Printers" at the bottom right of the Label Printer Manager software.
  6. Confirm that you receive the green "Sync Success" message from the Label Printer Manager.
  7. Confirm the printer has populated in Vetter by attempting to print a label, or by accessing the printer list in Vetter (Settings > Configuration Menu > View Printers).
In order to access the printer list in your Mac (step 3 above):
  1. Click the Apple icon at the top left of the screen
  2. Click "System Preferences"
  3. Click "Printers and Scanners"
  4. Verify the printer is listed and "Online" or "Idle" (steps 5-8 are optional, but help confirm the printer is functioning locally)
  5. Click on the printer name
  6. Click "Open Print Queue"
  7. Click the printer name at the top left of the screen
  8. Click "Print Test Page"
