Unassigned Labs

Unassigned Labs

If lab results come back to Vetter, but does not know what patients lab record to attach to, it will go into the Unassigned Labs. There could be a number of reasons a record will come back unassigned. Typically it is if a step is missed during the workflow or if a record is deleted after the lab has been submitted. The clinic administrator will receive a task that will state there are unassigned lab results in the Unassigned Labs which is found in the Patients Module.

Here are the steps to assign a unassigned lab:

1. Click on the 'Unassigned Labs' in the patient profile
2. Select the applicable lab from the list that needs to be assigned. Each line will show the Patient (ID), Species, Test, Test Date, and Result date.
3. Select the gear icon next to the lab you need to assign.
4. Enter in the patient name (which will auto populate from the clinics patient list)
5. Select a record to attach the lab results to. If the correct lab record is in the patients history and does not have results attached already, you can select the lab to attach the results to. If there is no lab record, select 'Create new record' which will bring up a 'New Record' for to add in the lab item.
